Seawall Inspection Services
Our expert team conducts comprehensive evaluations of seawalls and structures adjacent to water bodies. This process includes assessing the height, slope, soil characteristics, depth, construction materials, exposure to water forces, and overall structural integrity.
Our assessment includes determining the current state of the seawall, providing a thorough analysis of its functional lifespan, identifying any necessary repair work or making a recommendation for replacement. We focus on saving the owner from replacement if an investment in repair is a viable option.
In situations where there are significant structural concerns, we utilize video inspections that are thoroughly reviewed by marine engineering specialists for a more detailed examination and to obtain expert repair recommendations.
The culmination of our inspection process is a detailed report and repair estimate if requested, complete with photographs and video footage, ensuring our clients have a clear and direct understanding of the condition of their seawall or structure and repair or replace options.
Seawall Inspections Options
Level I Above Water Visual
- Visually inspect the accessible portions of the seawall for pitting, spalling, and other signs of damage and risk. Includes report, pictures, and repair options, based on visual-only inspection.
Level II Underwater Photos and Anchors
- Above Water Visual (above)
- Underwater photos of the seawall and base, as permitted. Photos will be taken with a Go Pro or similar device on a handle.
- Anchor inspection includes locating, digging to uncover, and visually inspecting two steel tie-back anchors at the point of connection to the landside of the seawall. Includes report, pictures, and suggested options for repair, if applicable based on available information.
Level III Above Water Visual, Anchors, In Water
- Above Water Visual (above)
- Underwater Photos and Anchors
- Specialized in-water seawall inspections can help identify issues only visible through close-up inspection. Our diver-inspectors inspect the entire wall, seams and base looking for signs of erosion, missing footers and foundation mounts, wall movement at the base, and stress cracks. These inspections can also help determine the condition of the seawall and its estimated lifespan.
