Miromar Lakes is a well-known community located in the Fort Myers Beach area, offering a blend of residential living and a variety of amenities for both residents and visitors. This neighborhood is situated within close proximity to key attractions in Fort Myers, making it a desirable location for families, retirees, and seasonal visitors alike. Below, we will cover notable parks, attractions, restaurants, and annual festivals that contribute to the area’s local character.

Parks and Recreation

Miromar Lakes is centered around its lakes and offers a wide range of outdoor activities, including boating, fishing, and water sports. One of the key features of the community is Lake Como, which spans over 700 acres. Residents and visitors can enjoy activities such as kayaking, paddleboarding, and sailing. The lake also includes a private beach club that offers beachside services, making it a convenient spot for relaxation and waterside recreation.

For those interested in golf, the Miromar Lakes Golf Club provides an 18-hole championship course designed by golf course architect Arthur Hills. The course is well-regarded for its challenging layout and well-maintained grounds. The club also offers golf lessons and clinics, making it a hub for both casual and serious golfers in the area.

Although Miromar Lakes does not have extensive public parks within its boundaries, it is close to several regional parks in Fort Myers. Lakes Regional Park is approximately 20 minutes from Miromar Lakes and offers walking trails, playgrounds, and opportunities for birdwatching. It is also a popular spot for families due to its miniature train rides and seasonal activities.

Attractions in and Around Miromar Lakes

Miromar Lakes’ proximity to Fort Myers Beach and other nearby destinations adds to its appeal. A short drive from the neighborhood takes you to Miromar Outlets, a popular shopping destination featuring over 140 stores. Visitors can find a variety of brand-name retailers offering discounted prices, and the outlets regularly host sales events throughout the year.

For more nature-focused experiences, Koreshan State Park is a 30-minute drive from Miromar Lakes. The park is known for its unique history as the former settlement of a religious group and offers tours of the historic site. It also features campgrounds, hiking trails, and access to the Estero River for kayaking and canoeing.

Additionally, Germain Arena, now known as Hertz Arena, is less than 15 minutes away. This venue hosts concerts, sporting events, and other large-scale entertainment options throughout the year. It serves as the home ice for the Florida Everblades, a minor league hockey team. During the hockey season, many Miromar Lakes residents attend games, which has become a popular community activity.

Dining Options

While Miromar Lakes itself has limited restaurant options within the community, residents and visitors have access to a variety of dining experiences in nearby areas. Within the community, the Beach Clubhouse offers a dining experience focused on fresh seafood, with views of Lake Como. It provides a range of menu options, including casual meals and fine dining, catering mostly to residents of Miromar Lakes.

Outside the community, Tamiami Trail and Corkscrew Road offer access to several popular restaurants. For Italian cuisine, Bravo Italian Kitchen is located within a short drive and provides a mix of traditional dishes. Another option is Connors Steak & Seafood, a steakhouse offering a menu focused on fresh seafood and premium steaks. It’s a well-known spot for both special occasions and casual dining.

For more casual dining, Ford’s Garage offers a menu of burgers and craft beers in a unique setting that pays homage to classic cars and the history of Henry Ford. This restaurant is located at the Miromar Outlets, making it a convenient stop after shopping.

Annual Events and Festivals

Miromar Lakes is part of the larger Fort Myers Beach and Estero communities, which host several annual events and festivals that attract both locals and tourists.

The festival also includes a parade, a 5k run, and live entertainment.

Another major event is the Coconut Festival in Cape Coral, held annually in November. It celebrates the local culture and includes live music, carnival rides, and fireworks. Though not located directly in Miromar Lakes, it draws residents from across Lee County, including Miromar Lakes.

For art enthusiasts, the Bonita Springs National Art Festival is an annual event that takes place in January and March. The festival features works from local and national artists, ranging from paintings and sculptures to photography and mixed media. The event is held at Riverside Park in nearby Bonita Springs and is easily accessible from Miromar Lakes.
